Lactate Threshold Test

Lancaster University Shield

£150.00

Description

Incremental exercise test to determine lactate thresholds

Detailed Description

For endurance events, the ability to sustain a high percentage of VO2 Max without building up fatigue is important. The lactate threshold refers to the point during exercise at which lactate builds up more quickly than it can be removed. Well trained athletes can exercise just below their lactate threshold for the duration of their event. Lactate threshold testing can be carried out on a treadmill or Wattbike and fingertip blood samples will be required to measure blood lactate throughout the protocol. Utilising the lactate threshold to determine training zones can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of training and in turn can improve endurance performance. Data collected: Lactate threshold (LT1), Lactate turnpoint (LT2), Training zones.
