A 9 week Chinese course for students, staff and general public from week beginning 14 October to week beginning 9 December 2024.                 Monday from 6.15pm to 7.45pm.

For beginners with no prior knowledge. Learners will learn basic phonetics and tones and use about 200 words around the following topics (greetings, introductions, shopping, making a phone call, telling the time, ordering dishes). At the end of the course learners will have learnt some survival Chinese.  The course will cover Discover China book 1, units 1-3. To make progress during the course you will need to allocate at least 3 hours per week for revision of each class and learning characters.
