Gender and Celebrity: A Feminist Media and Cultural Studies Summer School

Monday 22nd – Friday 26th May

Over four days (and evenings) you will participate in a range of lectures, workshops, discussions, film screenings, and a public lecture. Explore a range of historical and contemporary formations including:

• Feminist media studies
• Feminist cultural studies
• Intersectional feminist theory
• Celebrity Culture
This summer school is led by Dr Debra Ferreday, Dr Kate McNicholas Smith, and Dr Tracey Jensen with participation from other Centre for Gender and Women's Studies staff.
Visiting speakers include Dr Hannah Hamad (UAE), Dr Kim Allen (MMU), and Professor Jack Halberstam, Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity, Gender Studies, Comparative Literature, and English at USC.
